The
Stirling Area Community Music Groups Training Project aims to help
informal community music groups in the Stirling area to develop music
leader skills among their own members. This will help them to
sustain their activities. The groups involved are the Riverside
Music Project (Stirling), Blackford Fiddle Group (Perthshire), Get Reel
(Balfron and Killearn) and the Falkirk Fiddle Workshop.
The project is starting with a pilot supported by finds from the
Scottish Arts Council. The pilot is a short programme of
mentoring and training of trainee leaders of all ages. Initially
two trainees have been selected by each of the four participating
groups. The pilot will run from March to June 2009 and as it
progresses additional information will be included on this web site.
